It could easily be mistaken for an SA, but its not!!sandemb wrote:Got to agree with Nereus. Looks like MG SA which was a four door. I also thought was a Lagonda at first from the grill.![]()

Nereus. Of course you are correct and I should learn not post with my phone.Nereus wrote:Erm.. as far as I can see there are only two doors, and the hinges are well in front of the wheel arch.Bristolian wrote:The suicide doors are quite unusual insomuch that a good proportion of the rear wheel arch looks to be included in the door.Nereus wrote:Yes, it is a nice looking car. The two suicide doors should give it away.

sandemb wrote:Just an aside on this thread - There are many classic car enthusiasts in Thailand. Is there any contacts or a way of getting in a 30+ year old car into TH without paying ridiculous import duties. Would love to take a couple of my cars there, but not going to pay 4 times what it is worth!

Tried this when I came here nearly 13 years ago -
forget it, because it's worse than you think - it's not 4 times the value; it's 3 or 4 times what the authorities here say the value is, and that's a whole lot more!
I have been through it also many years ago and paid the price. But, I was just talking with a guy (Thai) yesterday that restores old cars as a business. He says it can still be done, and I woulkd say that you MAY be able to do it with a guy like that. It needs to come in in a Thai name, no Farangs mentioned, or in sight. There are many well connected people that have old cars, and for sure they have a way to do it.sandemb wrote:Just an aside on this thread - There are many classic car enthusiasts in Thailand.
