They told me 4hrs also, but actually took 3hrs 15 mins leaving at 2pm, as they wish to be on the safe sideusual suspect wrote:I booked 2 days ago to go to the Airport today...friendly folk behind the window at the bus-station, the man told me the 2pm bus will take 4 hours to the A/pt..then asked me if this was OK..? (nice that).
Yes Richard there's a surcharge now for baggage over 20kgs, but the fee is only 20b so no big deal there.

Courage is grace under pressure and when circumstances change you change your mind.

I have heard some really stupid complaints, one about a day when traffic was crazy and it took 4hr and another about being charged 20baht for extra baggage... i hope they get the support they need to keep the service going.

For me it's a convinced way to go from a-b without have the felling i'm gonna die as I doo with the minivans and a lot cheaper than a taxi wich I used before.

How does one prove that? A photo of the electronic arrivals sign?TimandT wrote: 11. What if my flight delays and I miss my coach, can I take the next one?
Yes, you can but you must prove to us that your flight delays and lands within 30 minutes prior to booked coach departure time.

Re: Airport VIP Bus to and from Hua Hin
if you just turn up at the airport it is slightly more expensive for bags... sometimes.
a month ago they took my golf clubs (extra bag) for free.
this week, it was 100 baht for an extra bag and golf clubs ( I had 3 bags). 405 baht is no problem. wouldn't get the stuff in an average taxi or minibus anyway.
driver was very slow this time though. almost as if he was making it 4 hours when he could have done it quicker. he never used the outside lane and sat in the inside lane for long distances behind lorries. quite odd for any one who has lived here for many years and used public transport before.

But even if you are not catching a flight, this is a good way to get to Bkk.
Mrs D-M went up on Friday and came back on Saturday. 305 baht each way, very comfortable and good driving.
She was seeing friends near the airport, but wherever you want to go, I think the transport links from Swampy are quite good now.

I used it nearly 2 weeks back, I'd booked online, it was sound, only about 4 passengers on it but it was the last one at 7:30.
Then the friendly local neighbourhood HH Taxi driver wanted 200b to soi 116 so I jumped on a motasai for 60b.

Yes, when I arrived at the bus station in April I managed to get a motorbike taxi from there to the centre of town for 50 bt. There was a couple of taxis there but I asked for a bike as there was a lot of traffic about and they found me one from outside in the street.

What's a "motasai"? A motorbike taxi?BaaBaa. wrote:so I jumped on a motasai for 60b.

Just Motorbike, should've been "MotoSai" though, in this instance I was referring to a Taxi though, yes.Ralfredo wrote:What's a "motasai"? A motorbike taxi?BaaBaa. wrote:so I jumped on a motasai for 60b.
Think it comes from "Motorcycle" to be honest.
Re: Airport VIP Bus to and from Hua Hin
I've used the bus on four round-trips now (i.e. eight times) and never been disappointed: punctual, clean and comfortable.
I have twice checked luggage -- two pieces -- and not been charged. I had a computer bag carry-on, as well.
In all my trips, I've never seen the bus more than half full. Until this week. On Wednesday the bus only had two empty seats at 130pm.
I've done two trips Hua Hin-Pattaya as TandT recounted, and agree that it beats the minivans hands down and if you use the Bell Travel bus for B230 between BKK and Pattaya/Jomtien, they deliver you right to your hotel/condo.

Finally used the A/pt bus from HH to Swampy.
Nice, comfortable, STEADY ride there. Friendly staff from check-in to disembarking at the terminal.
The 2pm bus last week had 27 passengers..not bad for low-season I thought.
We are lucky to have this service & do hope it will run for years to come...

Is there a "big bus" to Don Muang?
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?
