RICHARD OF LOXLEY

It’s none of my business what people say and think of me. I am what I am and do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. It makes life so much easier.

It's not a NSU hatchback prototype is it?

The VW's look like they have US number plates, is it American?

It looks like some modified Chevy Corvair to me.

That's exactly what I first thought but you're right its not one of those.

It's not a prototype and not a US make either. Although I do think it had a Chevy engine.

It is indeed.

Released at about the same time as the Jensen Interceptor with a huge, but probably underpowered, american 4.2L V8.
I wonder if it handled more like the Jensen or the AMC Pacer....

It would seem that the Uirapuru went out of production BEFORE the Interceptor started production and Jensen had given the body design task to an Italian design house but they are so similar it's hard to imagine that the Jensen wasn't just a hatchback version of the Brasinca.

If you know anyone that speaks Brazilian there might be more info here.
