The thing I see on this rolls are what seem to be what we used to call a sealed beam headlight, it looks like either a late fitment or a later accessorie.
It`s a Rolls Royce Silver Wraith. Don`t know what`s special about that particular one, but as a model they were the first post WW2 productions.
It's not a Silver Wraith Nerus, but is a 1950 vintage. Study the front of the car carefully for a clue about its uniqueness.
I shall be off-line for the next 2 hours so replies after 6 pm.
Yes, I see what you are referring to, and that's all I am going say just now!
May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil know`s you`re dead!

Ttm
Although it could be that it has sealed bean lights, that's not what I am looking for. It's something about this specific car!!
RICHARD OF LOXLEY
It’s none of my business what people say and think of me. I am what I am and do what I do. I expect nothing and accept everything. It makes life so much easier.

Well spotted Richard, it is indeed one of the Queens cars - details:
State Cars; H J Mulliner bodied 1950 Rolls Royce Royal Phantom IV (5.7 Litre Straight Eight)
(This Rolls Royce was purchased by Princess Elizabeth in 1950, and became a state car upon her accession to the throne as Queen Elizabeth II in 1952)
Nereus wrote:The crest is on the front bumper, as I refrained from posting above! and I still say it is a Silver Wraith, depite the fancy "Royal" name!
Your partly correct Nereus as it is based on the Silver Wraith -
By creating the Phantom IV the manufacturer broke with their earlier decision to cease production of the series of "big" Rolls-Royce Phantoms after the end of the Second World War.[2] The chassis was developed from that of the Silver Wraith, strengthened and lengthened considerably to a wheelbase of 145 inches and an overall length of 229 inches.
It is the only Rolls Royce motorcar to be fitted with a straight-8 engine, which could run long distances at a very low speed, an important feature for ceremonial cars.
