I agree, it's a Gilbern but no idea of the model.

Made in S. Wales, originally from Pontypridd, I think!

I did use google  to find the answer and the next model was the Invader that was introduced in 1969 which would have been a G registration not the F plate as in the photo. They looked the same but the engine had been upgraded using the engine from the Capri 3000 GT.

Early cars used Volvo 1800,later Ford V6 then Rover V8 which I believe was based on a yank engine. No doubt other engine makes were used at some point.

Much like the Reliant scimitar they used amongst others the ford essex v6, when I was a young un I worked at a ford dealership and an elderly gent used to bring his scimitar in for service.

All fibreglass it seemed to go like a rocket in them days,

I think its a Messerschmitt KR200?

I knew that, well I didn't know the KR200 bit, but knew the car, the German alternative to the bubble car! But that photo looks as if it has 4 wheels?

Well done Caller. Must have been too easy this one...
Only reason I know them is my uncle collects bubble cars and has refurbished several model to pristine condition.
I was told that all the Messerschmitt were built using original cockpits post WWII.

I remember that someone had one where I was based back in the eighties and it looked very similar to that one, although I think much older.
