Some of the Indian manufacturers produce some quire decent cars and bikes.

There was one frequently used as a taxi that always struck me as a decent motor, with what would now be a trendy retro look!

Well done, basically they were still making Vauxhaul Victors in India until 2002. (They made the Morris Oxford for even longer than that as the Ambassador.)

As a brief aside until someone posts the next challenge, can anyone tell me the difference between a Morris Oxford and an Austin Cambridge?

The Cambridge was my first car - 300 quid, I think, in 1975. It got me down to Bordeaux, kept me there for a year then took me back to Blighty again. Leather seats, walnut dash and a crank handle that often came in very useful!

I think that like most of the brands that came under the BMC group and later Leyland, were simply variations of the same basic car with just different badging and some cosmetic differences and sometimes power output - e.g. The MG always had a bit more power, Wolsey was a bit more luxiourios, Riley was a bit of both, with Vandan Pla's the top of the range and Austin/Morris the base models.

A great era even though reliability might not have been all to shout about!!

My father had an old Wolsey 16/60 as a second car just for pulling a caravan in the seventies and it was really quite nice inside with leather seats and wooden trim. My brother and I used to enjoy going on holiday in it.
