O'Neils
O'Neils
Crawfords then O'Neils...What now?. Has London bar finally driven them to sell?

Re: O'Neils
I take it that O'Neils is up for sale then? When in town I usually go there to watch the Football and Rugby, nice and quiet, very clean and you can hear the commentary from the TV.
The foods pretty good as well, although not cheap.
I cannot hear the London bar music inside but you would sure not get much peace if you wanted to sit outside and have a fag.
I got the impression that the owners were running the bar as a hobby, they didn't need the money and the bar would be run how they wanted, customers or no customers.

Re: O'Neils
The bar has been sold and new owner in place a couple of months ago. They have taken the doors off and opened the front.

No doubt so the patrons can enjoy what has to be the worst band in the world hacking and thrashing away.Pagey wrote:The bar has been sold and new owner in place a couple of months ago. They have taken the doors off and opened the front.

Has it worked, doors off , has trade picked up
Is it more like girly bar now
Re: O'Neils
Not girly bar, more sports oriented. More renovations are due. Don't know about trade as didn't go in before but now seems to be a few watching the footy on a weekend.

Re: O'Neils
I heard a rumour that the Scottish guy, Martin..who previously had 'Lazy Daze' has gone into partnership with someone & now running this bar..(please don't quote me..that's only what I heard)..??
Johnny K shares my feelings about the resident 'band' across the road from here..
(But it's horses-for-courses, London Bar customers seem to enjoy this crap).

Re London Bar, From my wanderings around the block I would say it is in the top 3 bars for consistently having the most customers over the last year.
Johnny and U.S. have you actually been in London bar and listened to the band ? Listening to them from the bar across the street is not quite the same.
I wish I had half the musical talent of any of them.

Pagey, not sure 'listening' is the word, enduring more like it. They don't rank as an attraction to me.Pagey wrote:Re London Bar, From my wanderings around the block I would say it is in the top 3 bars for consistently having the most customers over the last year.

Each to his own Johnny - I love music and especially live music, it adds to the atmosphere for me. Just wish I could play an instrument or sing in tune

Re: O'Neils
I prefer El Murphy's, bigger, more screens for sporting events, better band, better food.
