Gas BBQ

Post by dtaai-maai »

A friend of mine would like to buy a gas barbecue.
Searching on line, I've found a local outlet at W.O.L.F. furniture.
Has anyone bought one recently, from there or anywhere else in HH?

There were some gas BBQ's on sale in HomePro on our last visit - might be a cheaper option than WOLF. But you get what you pay for I guess.

My friend is Norwegian - the price is a minor consideration!

Thanks for the suggestions, they'll be followed up. Any more local outlets?

^ Yes, I shipped a container here from the U.S. and gave away a nice big gas grill with a rotisserie and side burner rather than ship it because I thought with all the stainless companies here a new one would be very cheap. Result; eight years here and still no grill! :banghead:

Hi DM
We bought a 4B Turbo Classic Built-in Barbecue from W.O.L.F in 2008 - http://www.bbqthai.com/4_turbo_classic_built_in.htm - and we have been very satisfied with it.
They did not have it on display when we went there initially, but they ordered it to the shop so we could take a look at it before we decided to buy it.

We have placed it in a open kitchen, and we use it almost every day when we are in Thailand.

Hi
They had some great gas BBQ's at Beautiful World (the furniture shop on Petchkasem road, near Index) last time I was there a couple of weeks ago. They looked high end models, although I never checked the price out.
They seem to have expanded to more outdoor living stuff.
It might be worth a look there.
Our gas BBQ came from Home Pro , a couple of year ago and cost a fortune for a very average one!
But the good news is that the stuff you can buy here now is improving all the time.

I have been told (by Weber) that I would not be able to use a Weber gas bbq bought in the UK in Thailand because the gas is different and I would not be able to change the controller without losing my warranty. Anyone have views on this ?

Don`t know about the warranty, but if it is set up for natural gas, then yes, it would need both the regulator and the burner jets changing to run on bottled gas in Thailand.

I also have a Weber, just change the regulator and it will work well.
