Cannot help myself being curious here.
Did this thread eventually lead to anything?
Was the guy found and confronted?
Was there any settlement?
Was the police helpful?
What was the outcome (if any)?

Yes, I'm also quite curious. I would like to believe that the matter has been taken care of, but then again, TIT.

BTW Sarge, I hope you and you missus have enjoyed a full recovery. :thumb:

I guess the whole thing was a scam from the start

As Bernard Trink used to say - any comment would be superfluous.

Hey Sarge - just checking in to let you know Homer should be ignored.......apparently his gene pool was tainted.

PB - How about giving Sarge some useful information, i.e. where did you see the guy, what time etc. It's not going to do him much good unless you share that kind of info.

So, I suggest you send one to SARGE with the further information, if that is how you feel.

Firstly i have recieved zero nil none post notifications for any of the posts on the last page of this thread

All i will say on this matter now is that my wife and I have gone personaly to the chief of police Prachuap Kiri Khan Provnce on 2 occasions.

After the first we were summoned by the captain in Hua Hin who said he would have it solved in days he was given the info and the photos of the bike and the crash hat

result NOTHING

after our second visit to Prachuap Kiri can we were summoned to see the Deputy chief inspector Hua Hin Police
He proceeded Personaly   to type up our complaint from the very beginning as if there was no record :banghead: he was informed without giving names of all info from PMs and the forum
He assured us he would have this guy banged up by the weekend

Result 2 weeks later we were asked to go to prachuap to make up an identikit picture (i presume with a potato and plastic noses eyes and mouths :guns: :guns: )
They were told in no uncertain manner what i thought of the Royal Thai Police and if the could not find a huge hog moto bike with his number plate still in view while half the ex pats can spot it at will it was obvious to me they were NOT LOOKING and an identikit was an insult.

I have always in the past defended the police NOT ANY MORE i am sure the areshole and the police had it sorted within 2 or 3 days

and should any Hua Hin police read this then they should hang their heads in shame

It appears that what was predicted would happen did. Your mistake was thinking the police gave a sh&t. had you gone there with a nice fat envelope things would have been a lot different to what they are now. it appears he was the first with the cash. I said at the time I would have rented / borrowed a truck for a few days and spent it cruising around till I found the mother and then failed to spot him at a junction etc.
Best now just put it down to experience and hope you see him again when you are in a position to repay the favour.
Hope the road rash healed OK as sometimes it can leave some nasty scars.
I never forget a face but in your case I'll make an exception!

So true H20D

Unless you boost 'tea money' they don't give a sh1t. Had friend who was conned into paying a deposit on a condo and at termination could not find the agent. Simple answer I was told is to make sure you have a copy of their ID. Any problems go to MIB and offer some tea money for them to track and trace. I understand this approach works well.

I'm sure in Sarges case the physical ID of the guy and his chopper, where he's been viewed, half a registration and a bit off tea money would have sorted it in days if not hours.
