Whoever started this thread must have been British, that is all we ever talk about :p By the way, everyone please perform a rain dance as we need it, I can feel it in the air, we need the monsoon to come and freshen things up!

Bangkok experienced one of its hottest days yesterday when the Sun was at its most direct point over the capital.

The maximum temperature measured at Don Muang meteorological station hit 39.4C, the highest recorded on April 27 in 30 years.

It has been speculated that April 27 will be Bangkok's hottest day each year because of the Sun's position. However, the Meteorological Department explained that the city's temperature also depends on the cloud, wind, and rain conditions.

The highest temperature recorded on April 27 was in 1983 when the mercury reached 39.9C.

Temperatures in other provinces, especially in the North and lower North, continued to rise above 40C.
In another article I read where temperatures in some provinces had risen as high as 44 degrees in the last couple of days.

Ouch, that's almost as bad as here in the Middle East during the Summer, no fun that. At the moment we are only hitting around 35 deg., but will be heading up towards the high 40s come late June/July. :( :(

Just spent the 26th and 27th in Bangkok and it was hot but I felt more comfortable than I have been feeling this last week in Hua Hin. Could be the humidity factor as I know several Thais in HH saying this the hottest for many years

Yes, but don't you have central air conditioning at home, then again in the car and then again in the office - so its not much of a sweat getting to the car - well that was my experience in the Gulf back in the 60's, and I cannot believe things have not improved since that time.

Yes everywhere is air conditioned, except the golf course that is!! Actually when I was living in Abu Dhabi several years back they did introduce 'air conditioned' golf buggies, it was a system that ran on ice and water and the cool air was piped into the buggy through flexible hoses, but as the buggies weren't enclosed it was only marginally successful and you still had to get out into the sun to play your shot anyway. That's why when people ask me if I continue to play golf during the Summer months, I correct them by saying that I survive a round of golf every week during the Summer, rather than play it

I've been listening to thunder and seeing cloudy skies for the last two hours, but so far not a drop of rain... and I'm dancing as hard as I can. Image :D

Heavy rain here for about an hour. Just west of the bypass. Power outage also.

Nothing here south of the flyover except cloudy skies. I was really hoping for some cooling rain.

Well the clouds have cooled things down here somewhat (by about 5 degrees!), even without the rain
