New Makro store in Hua Hin

Post by bapak »

According to the Makro CEO, the Makro store now under construction in Hua Hin will only serve retailers, hotels, restaurants, and catering businesses, known in the trad as the Horeca market.

If they don't have what you want at new store just go down to Makro in Pranbury. Not that far away. With Big C nearby, surely you should be able to find what you want between the two.

Just wait and see. As in the Pranburi store, all farangs will most likely be issued a card on request.
They want business, regardless of how small.

I live in Udon thani and go to the Makro store here

I dont even have a card, I just walk straight in, buy what i want, go to the checkout
The cashier asks for the card, I say "dont have" and she just puts it through

Do you really think that they are going to turn down money??

^ Yea, it's on Petchkasem at the extreme north end of Hua Hin. Passed it yesterday on the way back from Bangkok. The steel framing is up but that's about it so far.

BaaBaa, I think the one in Pranburi will still be more convenient for us. The Hua Hin one may be a bit closer, but it will still be quicker (and easier) imo to go to one south of Hua Hin.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

I reckon that's quite correct. In the old days, Nurdin & Peacock and Bookers were pretty strict about "trade only". Macro were far more relaxed.

HH -

The one I think you are talking about is Tesco. Purportedly the permit was issued for a Tesco warehouse there. Someone posted a picture off Google Earth on another thread a few weeks ago. This one is near the Holiday Inn/Regent.

I think the Macro is nearer town by the Bo Fai district. When we were at Immigaration last week my wife verified the Macro location with a woman who was selling Macro cards to the clerks in the office. It's on the west side of Petchkasem and there's a big fence around it with lots of work going on but no framing as of yet.

I see BaaBaa as the trolley-pusher in this scenario :naughty:

Doesn't link to a site though so no further info ...

I've moved all the Tesco posts to a new topic: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=19649

This one is about Makro.
