Does anyone know what the google translation "Troops were most common" from (I think) "ยกทัพมากันมากที่สุด" on http://www.huahin4u.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=567 should have been? Sounds very threatening!

Similarly, "Match the color of life. Hua Hin Jazz Festival in 2011, Jazz at the neck forward" which appears to have translated from เติมสีสันสุดมันส์ให้ชีวิตในงาน "หัวหินแจ๊สเฟสติเวล 2011" ที่บรรดาคอเพลงแจ๊สตั้งตารอคอย on http://www.jazzfestivalhuahin.com/?
I can handle the "Match the colour of life" bit, but "Jazz at the neck forward"?

Are any of the acts likely to be first class? Does anyone know anything about any of the artists they could share?

 :blues:

As everybody seems to know nuttin' about the featured artists is it safe to assume this year's Jazz Festival is a bit of TIT, a snafu?
Only winners Sofitel?

I could hear the music (at least the bass and beat) from my house. I can't report on how good it was but it seems to be loud enough... :D
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

I was there for about an hour last night. The schedule was changed so the official inauguration took place late. I heard the band that performed up till the inauguration. Unfortunately I did not catch its name but it was excellent. Frontline tenorsax, trumpet, barytone sax, usual rythm group of four (guitar player excellent, as were all of the musicians). Lady singer, also excellent. Repertoire mixed between jazz, soul, funk. After the inauguration there was a Japanese duo, lady and man guitar player. IMO nothing to do with jazz. Unbearable singing noise. Sounded like the calls of Inuits. Then again, lots of people don't know what is jazz as long as it is noisy. Left after the first song of the Japanese duo.
Will go back tonight to experience the show of Koh Mr. Saxman. He isn't a jazzmusician either, he belongs in a circus, but it's amazing what he can do with a saxophone.
Trumpetly yours,
LP :blues:

Was there Saturday night as well. The program was completely fouled up with last minute changes, or so it appeared.
No Koh Mr. Saxman - which was OK by me, I have seen his act before. But some pretty good Pop/Blues/Funk bands presumably of Thai origin. Their names didn't give me a clue.
Kudos to the two young ladies presenting the program in a charming and professional way with smiles and good English. Lots of Bangkok youth, happy crowd.
Not much jazz but I guess that's what you can expect in Thailand.
They just don't know the difference between Country and Western. ...

Looked same same as last year, the year before, etc. etc. What you should ask for is sound tracks.

Hi Buksida - I was there Saturday night and have quite a few photos I can upload. Too many to put in one post. What is the best way? Set up an album on the 'Photos' section?
