Thank You Indian Restaurant
Thank You Indian Restaurant
I notice in the new shopping centre on the corner of Petchkasem and Damnernkasen Roads, a new Indian Restaurant. I think the name is "Taste of India". Has anyone tried it?

Went when it first opened and they weren't really fast and getting the food out. Have to say the taste was good and the quantity in the portions were okay.

Was there late July and was met by sign saying something like "Chef gone to India, will be back early August. Today only Thai food". I intend to try one of their curries soon.

I appreciate a restaurant that does this rather than having someone try to bluff their way thru!Lung Per wrote:Was there late July and was met by sign saying something like "Chef gone to India, will be back early August. Today only Thai food". I intend to try one of their curries soon.
The proper function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days in trying to prolong them. I shall use my time.

Glad to hear they are doing well enough to expand. I've been there several times, and always been satisfied with the food. The prices are good, as well. The only one I can recall off the top of my head was a Tandoori Chicken Platter (chicken, sauce, rice, a few vegetables) for B115.
I don't mind a bit of a wait for the food. At least it's freshly cooked, and you can watch the entire process.

Actually, Indian dishes like Vindaloo, Korma, Curry, etc., are much better when they are not freshly made!wpcoe wrote:I don't mind a bit of a wait for the food. At least it's freshly cooked, and you can watch the entire process.

I think that you will find that the dishes you mention are prepared... Only the Tandoori items, Naan, Raita, etc.. are prepared on the spot.TypicallyTropical wrote:Actually, Indian dishes like Vindaloo, Korma, Curry, etc., are much better when they are not freshly made!wpcoe wrote:I don't mind a bit of a wait for the food. We visit Hua Hin every few weeks and have visited this restaurant quite a few times. The curries are always good, the tandoori chicken tender and tasty and the naan freshly made in a charcoal tandoor. The wine and beer are relatively inexpensive and the food good value.
If anyone knows where to buy a tandoor in Thailand (the waitress said it was Thai made) please let me know, I'd love one in my garden
