Powermap GPS for sale

Powermap large screen Sat Nav for sale. Its pretty much brand new - actually i have only used it for one single trip to Bangkok. I am in the process of buying a Pajero Sport and will have Sat Nav built in to the dash, so I dont need my Powermap which is a shame, as its a great piece of kit.

It cost me 12,000 baht from Market Village 2 months ago. Ill sell it for 7000.

Comes with box, charger. usb cable, car charger, car bracket, manual, cd rom.

Woody, I would keep the Powermap system at least until you got some experience with your built in Nav system. I bought a Honda CRV with built in GPS but the system is real crap. I recently asked for an update, the Honda guys look at you as if you are from another planet. After I found a dealer who knew what I was talking about, they want to charge for the update Baht 4,000 and an update is only available 1 time in a year, mind you this is a Garmin system. For my old mobile Garmin Nuevi (which I bought 4 years ago for a hefty amount of Baht 27,000) I get every 6 month an update for Baht 450 which is in fact absolutely necessary in Thailand.

Maybe the new model is different but my in Paejero Sport ( top model last year) the sat nav was an option and was around 25K. I did not bother!

Can you tell me which Honda dealer can do the update.....I have a 2009 Honda Accord with Sat Nav,dunno if it's the same as the CRV Model but I'm pretty well chuffed with it.

I agree. I bought a Pajero Sport GT a few months ago. I inquired about the sat-nav but the dealer was unable to arrange installation...said I should contact Alpine's distributor in Bangkok directly and cost would be around 20K. I later heard that the in-dash sat-nav system was lousy so I checked their software provider and found that it's from a Korean based company. I had previously used a portable sat-nav from Besta GPS Advance which used the same software as Alpine, and found it to be very user-unfriendly (in English version).

So I ended buying a portable Garmin Nuvi and am very satisfied with the decision. I also found that attaching the Garmin to the window in my line of sight was far more convenient and safer than glancing at the middle of the dash (for in-dash sat-nav).
