Re: The new Bangkok Hospital in Hua Hin
Well the heli pad was lit up today and the windsock installed but no landing of copter. What's the scene Dr. M?
Only interested because it would be easier to winch me off my balcony in Condo Chain to get there rather than cross Petcha by foot, motorbike or car
Could I suppose construct a death slide

When I was in Condochain in April the helicopter was on the hospital roof and I took a couple of photos with the intention of adding them to this thread. I can't find them on my hard drive now even though I can locate all the other photos I took that trip

How come you will not give quotes on the forum?
I've been for a routine check up and the service was excellent but I got loaded with medication (including Paracetamol ,antibiotics and pain killers) for an ailment (sore throat) that was going
Medication ---2000Bht
Doc 2 minute discussion (no examination) 500Bht
Think there is a farang ripoff factor involved here
Convince me I am wrong please

Just get the prescription sheet and take to a local pharmacy. I think that 500 is not too bad remembering that you are at a private hospital although there should have been an examination to confirm diagnosis - there are many causes of a sore throat ranging from common viral/bacterial through to problems of a more serious nature.

I didn't need the medication and the few minutes with the doctor was a dialogue without him even examining melittlebird wrote:Just get the prescription sheet and take to a local pharmacy. My regular GP charges 300 Bht and it's 15 minutes and a regular all over examination

Re: The new Bangkok Hospital in Hua Hin
I see from its web site that Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin has a physical rehab department.
A few years ago I ruptured a disk in the lumbar region, and occasionally I irritate it resulting in substantial pain that usually tapers off within 5-7 days. I just re-injured it two days ago. <sigh...>
Part of my treatment when I attended BNH Hospital's Spine Clinic was TENS and ultrasound in the physical rehab department.
I seem to recall some problem the last time I re-injured and went to Bangkok Hospital Pattaya just for the TENS/ultrasound. Either it was that BUPA insurance wouldn't cover if I didn't have it prescribed by a doctor or BH-P wouldn't administer it without being prescribed by a doctor.
Would I be able to just walk in to the rehab clinic at BH-HH and request TENS/ultrasound? I don't see osteopathy as a department at the facility to get a "prescription" for the therapy.
