Edge Air Card

Post by caller »

Does this mean anything to anyone? For wi-fi use? I hope I'm not repeating earlier threads, but is there an alternative way to connect to wi-fi where a signal/router doesn't work? This has been suggested as an alternative, but seems really expensive - about 12kb.

It costs me £14 a month in the UK!!! :guns:

Caller have a look at this link, may be useful for you. The qusetion has been raised before, and can remember people mentioning the Vodaphone card. May pay to check on the UK vodaphone website.

Chelsea - no link attached, but the message suggests an answer awaits if I delve - many thanks!

By the by, whats it like to be a blues fan in Perth (the one Oz city I've not visited - too many Brits?!!)? We're getting a bad press here in the UK, Drogbas diving doesn't help, but mainly its the old green eyed monster!

Caller, sorry about that, I was half way through your message got distractyed and then forgot the link.

Here it is this time, sorry was 3G not vodaphone. If you search the site I am sure you will find all of the info that you require.

Caller it is great to be a Chelsea fan anywhere while we are playing like we are.
See we get chance for revenge against the Scousers in the semi final. Lets hope that they get their just deserts this time.

Who gives a dam about the bad press, if we were not winning all of our games, it would be directed at whoever was. Bask in the glory while it is there.

You are right, there is a load of Brits over in Perth. You can shut your eyes in some of the pubs, and with all of the accents, you would not believe that you are 12,000 miles from the UK.

You are so correct about all of those green eyed gooners, scouser, manc and whoever else we can add to the list. There is only one place they would want to be and that is top of the premier, but the only problem is, they are not good enough.

As Bruce Forsyth always used to say "Lets have a look at the old Scoreboard".
No1: Chelsea
No2 to No20: nowhere to be seen.

imho the edge card is a waiste of time
i think they advertise edge to receive around 256 kbps
the edge connection was not available anywhere i tryd it ie bkk and phuket
instead you reacive gprs @ about 5 kbps ( with dtac )
edge might and i do mean might become more available in the kingdom but at the moment a mobile handset with gprs is as good

Chelsea - I'm with you 100% on your views!!!

Jambo, thanks for the advice, but excusing my ignorance again (on all things techie), how does it work in practice? How does someone connect to wifi via a mobile? What do they have to do or buy?

I hope you can help! :)

Jambo et al, thanks for your help. I was trawling through previous messages about this when lo, an email from the other half, saying she's worked out whatever needs to be worked out, no edge card needed, no extra cost and all is rosy in the garden! Phew. Even sold a router for not far short of full price. Double phew. And then we found out she had been ripped off by a Co. thief from her mobile phone Co - who was using her number for freebies, which explained the sudden high cost of calls - and the Co. voluntarily repaid the excess charged!! Triple phew! :thumb:

LOS? love it! :D
