Yes indeed a Doors track from 1970 but also Radiohead about 30 years later.

Oh oh Guess, I don't want to say "I went to Vertigo" for the dinner, then people will say " Poor the lonely girl" right!!! Why don't you take WE as more than 2??? I went there with a bunch of my former colleagues.

I did want to call my 1nightstandblabblab guy but then I said to myself it don't give the *&%#@ to me.

But anyway we are heading to a wrong direction from the luxury hotel topic rite?
I'm adorable crazy ! :-)

Well said Linktolinh,
Some people on the board do off at tangents sometimes.
Luxury hotels? I can't afford to stay in them, but one time some friends were staying at The Oriental and I went up to BKK to see them. I managed to get in (dressed appropriately), saw their room and got a small bottle of Singha from their mini bar for 300 Baht - this was about 5 years ago.
Reckon that's as far as I'll ever get in "proper" places, but I can still dream on :D

I stayed at Conrad, very nice, high quality staff. On the executive floor you get free food and drink all the time in the executive lounge, e.g sushi buffet in the night. Nice pool on the 7th floor.

Stayed at the Royal Orchid Sheraton too, nice swimming pool near the Chao Phraya. Near chinatown.

We always stay in the Royal Benja on Sukumvit Soi 5. Great breakfast buffet, fantastic city views esp. at night, looks like a shot from the movie Bladerunner. Good location for the MTR and Skytrain. Friendly staff.

New hotel

Post by HonoluluJimmy »

Interesting...good case in point here. I see that it is often spoken that "the topic has been covered or use the search button" blah blah ...
didn't find this hotel in the search-a-roo thingo....

Here is a new hotel right down Soi 2 from the J.W. Marriott. Looked nice and just nips into your price range.

You can cut thru the Raj Hotel Car park and off to Soi 4 (Soi Nana) if that is your interest
I hear that All Kidda has declared war on Thailand. Shite, just the boozer blokes in from the counties in the fight could get off the piss a woop'em good!

That may have something to do with the fact that we are not a Bangkok hotel forum.

Majestic Grande, Soi 2, BKK

HJ is right (even though he mostly are out of 'my reach') about Maj.Grande. I'f your prepared to pay Bht. 3.000 a night, you wont get any better in Suk.area in terms of location, general quality, atmosphere. You most feel ok though with - some times of year - many guest who never learnt to smile and be forthcoming (Arabs). Get me right - I have no problems at all with them.

I have indeed seen pictures of linktolinh and I must say she's definitively not of Norse origin. Maybe Swedish, but no way Norse!!
I intend to live forever - so far so good.

The three major 5 star hotel on Suk are the JW Marriott, the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, and the Westin Grande Sukhumvit. all can be had for less than $100US using priceline.

Best place to learn haow to use priceline effecitvely is www.biddingfortravel.com.

BTW, if you bid for a 5* on sukhimvit, you are bidding on only these three hotels, and if your bid is accepted, you could get any one.

I've stayed in all three hotels. I'd rate them 1. SGS 2. JWM 3. WGS. But I would have trouble finding fault in any of these, and all are a good vaule at less than $100.

Everyone will have their favourite hotel in BKK. Mine is the Siam City Hotel on Si Ayuthaya, close to Phaya Thai skytrain station. Nice deluxe room for one, or two (same price) is 80 $US but brekkie is extra. I can recommend the place as a respectable, clean hotel of reasonable quality at a fair price.....

Ain't stayed anywhere ilse in BKK in four years.

I have stayed at the Pathuwan Princess and am also going to stay at the Westin Grand - which is really good slightly more than 100 a night but worth it.
