Restaurant recommendations required

Post by sam »

We have 13 nights in Hua Hin and although we have been a few times before, I was hoping you would share your thoughts on favorite restaurants (any type or price) bars or unusual things to do on an evening. (middle aged british couple). We have tried a few in the tourist block so maybe something of the beaten track?

thanks in anticipation.

Wander through the feeding time section and you will see lots of recommendations. Check out the six or seven offerings on or just off Soi 94 including Japanese, Indian, Thai, Northern European, Italian, American and Mexican. The names are all in previous posts plus a lot more.

Most of the really good food at really good prices is away from the tourist downtown area imho.

I very seldom eat out but did find the 159 Backyard Steak place on Petchkasem very good value.

Thanks Buksida, not been there will give it a try, HHfarang, I have looked through and made a list of where to try, just thought I would be cheeky and see what you locals do as you are there fulltime. For example a friend introduced us to a lovely backwater thai place on the top of 88 that does the best pork balls and other thai food we would not have seen or tried it normally.

Thanks again

Are restaurants allowed to serve alcohol today and tomorrow (July 26 and 27) or is it banned due to the Asarnha Bucha day holiday (today) and Buddhist lent (tomorrow)?

Many restaurants WILL serve beer etc,but you'll be drinking outa coffee mugs, and your beer bottle down on floor next to your table-leg in case of drive-by MIB. Also depends on area the r/rant is in..?
