You sure it wasn't on you mate's rod as well? :D

Seriously, a couple of great specimen fish to get you hooked. I will look forward to seeing the photos.

They were both my rod but it was him who eventually landed the 50kg, it took about 50 mins between us.

I did the 35kg on my own, that took about 35 mins, it must be 1kg a minute.

:? Why does the only face showing belong to the fish?

Are you 3 guys shy, or just not photogenic?
I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.

Not my place - that fish is too small

Nice Pla Beuk lads - where did you catch it?

Today's gem from the lodge..........

'Arry decided he still likes to hog everyone's attention so managed to get himself a showing again. We will have to find a way of getting to know his correct weight - I reckon 50+Kg now - but the lads holding him here in the picture reckon nearer 60.

Who am I to argue.. 8)

Seems like 'Arrys' siblings in our bottom pond want to get in on the act these days.

A young Arapaima caught today at around 25kg

VS this place is very relaxing people watching and the wind chimes in a light breeze, fantastic i can honestly say an afternoon at the lodge was the high light of my last month i spent in thailand have a look at my report in the forum index, there is also a picture in the same spot as the young lad my wife is trying to hold on to a rod but the 8kg plus carp was stronger than 50kg Linie and she almost went for a swim untill we took the rod off her.

We will go back there now everytime we come back to HH for sure i missed Terry by 1 Day in November, on my return for a few days before returning to U.K i loved fishing as a kid and going to the fishing lodge i would suggest to anyone to have a go you might just get hooked............ :D

Happy days............and i am even going to look back in the forum index and enjoy my beer right know.

Kendo

Thanks for the kind words - appreciated.

Despite the 'poor' tourist season, our business was the best that we have had so far. I guess this is because we are better known now, and the marketing is working.

The good thing of course is that the fish continue to grow which attracts customers. However we still want to provide a facility for families to enjoy a day out and also an environment where anglers can stand a chance of catching something different - all whilst maintaining competitive pricing.

To this end I am targeting more varied fish species to add to the 39 different ones already - watch this space as they say

Hopefully by the new 'season' we will have our new Pool room (I have a full size, 9'-0" by 4'-6", slate bed pool table in store that's just dying to be reassembled and used again 8) ).
Additional toilet facilities & shower rooms + a full size tennis court.
Also a new play area for children and more bungalows.

Hence my spells of working away to fund the expansion.

Anyway - I'll be back from smelly Delhi during the first two weeks of May and if anyone wants to pop up for a cold one you will be welcome.

Appreciate the suggestion and may look into it.

We have a few other 'family' oriented facilities which will be rolled out over time - but I'm keeping mum about them for now.

It's always a question of budget and how best to use the available land space at the lodge for the benefit of families whilst still catering for the angler - who most of the time appreciates some tranquility.

For example the tennis court.

I'm building this because
a) Mrs.T and the boys like to play tennis.
b) There seems to be a lack of 'public' tennis courts in Hua Hin where you can rent by the hour and so we can attract those who want a game and then maybe want to eat in the restaurant after.
c) The court will be part of the overall facilities of the lodge as a mini resort.

Pool Room and shower/toilet block

This will be an extension of the restaurant and will provide three shower cubicles (For those who have just played tennis, or those wishing to use the future swimming pool or those who have been in the ponds to cuddle a big fish 8) ). There will be two additional ladies toilets and the existing toilets will be converted to men only. My Pool Table (currently in store) will finally get a room of it's own with additional seating and a flat screen TV monitor.

Hopefully all this will be in place by around October this year.

Seems like an 'Arapaima Fest' has broken out at the Lodge

Again in the bottom pond, one of the littl'uns has been caught. Seems to be averaging two a week right now................
