I didn't think that the Bkk Bank in London did current accounts, the link seems to confirm that?

There have been previous posts that there is no debit card available, and this is not a fully working bank network, so on this basis it will not work for Kendo

I posted this yesterday, but it seems to have disappeared:

With regard to having your pension paid in Thailand, I had the same problem as my provider insisted on paying into a UK bank. The Bangkok Bank in London will accept payments with an automatic transfer into an account in Bangkok Bank Thailand. The London branch is not open for personal accounts so you need to tell them that it's for a pension transfer. It's worked well for me for the last few years. Any money that's paid into my Bangkok Bank London account, is automatically transferred into my Hua Hin account after 3 working days. I don't need to do anything.
I assume HHTel will be able to give more information.

when i called the Bkk bank in london some years ago they told me that they only dealt with business accounts and had no provision for personal accounts - this may have since changed as all the banks want yr money

Apparently Kasikorn aren't charging the fee as of yet.

SCB already are.

What fee?

SCB have started charging 20B on my nationwide card a while ago (3 months)

Kasikorn no fee.

Are you talking about the 150B fee BaaBaa?

Yes, the 150b, this is the "ATM charging 150b" thread.

What you'll find is, I think, that when you go through the sequence of using the ATM, then at the end, just before your cash is dispensed, you'll get a notice on the screen that says "Do you accept the 150 baht fee?", push yes or no, if no, then transaction is void.

This is also on top of whatever your bank in your home country wants off you, plus you are "done" on the rate a little, so that's a triple wammy!

Tried it at the Krung Thai Today and that's what happened. Probably will be the same MO for other banks that have decided to charge but at least they give you the option of accepting or not.

What would be good is if people can post regarding their bank.

So,
SBC - Unsure
Kasikorn - Not yet
Krung Thai - Yes

What about Adudyhya/Bangkok Bank etc, anyone know for sure?

Today myself and the mrs went into the city shopping, and i went into the main Nationwide branch, i enquiered about a savings account for our holiday spending money, as i have read on this forum about free withdraws.

The lady told me from June outside the EEC there will be a charge of 0.85% and from July this will rise to 1.0% because of Visa putting up there charges.

The 150B fee replaces the 20B fee.
