Christmas Day

Post by Jim »

How does Christmas Day work in HH? Back in Farangland we have the usual trip to see all the relatives, too much food, drink and flatulence. a good kip and an early evening hangover with the annual showing of the Sound of Music or Goldfinger.

It would be good hear how you locals tend to spend the day - does this mean a trip to the usual expat bars, or does Christmas just become another day? Presumably Jungle Juice will put on a full turkey dinner, but I guess you can't get sprouts there?

If I was in Hua Hin for christmas, I'd have to have a go at that Crawford's Christmas dinner.

Just looking at the ad for it makes my mouth water. Unfortunately I won't be there for a few more weeks :(
When the drinking is finished, it's time to start drinking...

Jim, you missed off your last post the best thing that was ever invented for getting over xmas.
Boxing day football with an 11.00am kick off.
Just the excuse to get out of the house when every one is still asleep and get out of the clearing up from xmas day, plus a skinfull on the way home.

You can get sprouts. I've bought them before at a small greengrocers on Petchkasem Road just around the corner from the Post Office, between two banks. There were quite pricey as I remember, but not too bad. They're never the same unless the frost has got to them a bit.
Mind you, with the temperatures in HH over the past few days, you could probably leave them outside overnight and they'd be almost frozen.
