Luckily I have 300 metres of coconut plantation between me and the sea.
I checked out the site but was unable to determine the speed of movement. It certainly looked like Rayong will get hit a little bit. The earlier projection placed it right through Rayong town.
Maybe our Rayong Representative can comment.
I am sure they either, already have or, will have, got wind of it. (Pun intended).

Rain squalls are blowing through now (1030), but very light with the sun shining all through it. Looks more like spring showers. We'll see what the afternoon/evening brings. Warnings are up here for rough seas and flooding in low areas through Friday. PeteGuess wrote:Luckily I have 300 metres of coconut plantation between me and the sea.

[quote="buksida"]Since we get a fair few weather related questions I thought I'd post this and make it a sticky for you to add your weather resources and links to. Hopefully we'll be able to the the big picture by using this thread.

Great post like the first link, good site.
The wife phones her mum every day for 30 mins but never tells me what weather is like there, so this link will come in very handy.
Regards Khundon.

I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.
Warning "Colder over upper Thailand and Strong Winds in Gulf"
source: Thai Metorological Department January 11, 2009
The surge of intense high pressure system from China has extended its ridge to cover Thailand and the Gulf, causing colder weather to 15 January, 2009 with 1-3 °C drop and windy while very cold in some places over the North and Northeast including frost in some places over the mountain tops.
The strong northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf and southern Thailand. Widely scattered thundershower is likely over the lower southern Thailand from Surat Thani southward while wave height 2-4 meters and landward winds occur in the coastal areas of southern east coast. All ships should proceed with caution and small boats keep ashore during 11-15 January, 2009.

We just had our first significant rain of the year over here yesterday. About 30 minutes of medium, soaking rain. All came off the ocean from the south.
If you haven't looked, HH, BKK and over here in the East scheduled for thundershowers tomorrow and Saturday. Pete

About time. HH and environs are dry as a bone so wish some wet weather over on this side of the Gulf, Pete.
I was playing golf on Sunday and the wind direction had changed about face. A player suggested that rains were coming in. All I know is that the wind ruined my club selection - any old excuse.
