...and who buys those giant zippo lighters???
Hi hhfarang

 I have to sort of hold my hand up to that one.

My brother in law and I were in the Rainbow bar (now Tina's) when a guy came in with a Zippo about 5 inches tall, my BIL wanted to buy it to play a joke on (sorry) an American who used his local in UK and was always saying how things were so big in the USA. The guy also used a zippo.

I told BIL to wait, as there will be a bigger one along soon.

Sure enough, along came a guy with a huge Zippo about 9" tall and BIL, after my wife did some hard Thai on Thai bargaining, bought it.

Back in their UK local sometime later, said American went to light a ciggy with his zippo, when BIL wiped out his 9 incher.

Huge cheer from all assembled, and the American bought all drinks for the night.

Money well spent when it earned BIL free drinks all night, BIL is 6ft 4ins and has hollow legs, when it comes to beer drinking.

Khundon,

I'm happy to hear that there is a use for those giant lighters. Sounds like the American (maybe a Texan?) took the joke in stride and a good time was had by all!

Hi hhfarang

Yes he did and they have become great friends. Don't know if he was Texan, but as it is true America is bloody big, he could have been from any state.

I would like to visit Montana I think, great open spaces, rolling green hills and lakes not much traffic on the roads.

Yeah, that would do me just fine.

The 2 flower sellers are twins (Bee and Boh) - they are great girls. Yes, they will take from you what they can (if you're daft enough to keep buying flowers all night they'll kepe selling), but they're OK and they are good company and great fun when you get to know them.
They also take care of the little kid who hangs around with them and they used to take care of their cousin but she now works in some bar.
They're Ok - let them be ...
