currency exchange

Post by albaker »

Will be arriving Hua Hin from Vietnam and wondering if I would be able to exchange Vietnamese " dong " into Thai baht at money changers in Hua Hin or would it be better at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi airport ? Rather not as exchange rates at airports are usually poor .

Airport rates are terrible, you'll get a better rate at Victory Exchange, bottom floor of Market Village.

Will they exchange Dong? I saw somebody refused a few years back, and didn't bother after our Vietnam holiday.

The best rate you get in Suvanapum airport. But do not go to a bank. Go to the basement where are several
changing facilities like superrich, mister bank, ... There you will get a much better rate than in Hua Hin at victory
exchange.

In currency market terminology, the Dong is non-convertible. In simple English: No.

In that case, it must be the best answer to the OP.
