Thai Banks

Post by suej »

:? Hope someone can help us. We are in the process of buying a new house in HH. Should be ready in 8 months!! We have been told that we will need to open a thai bank account - any recommendations as this is a totally new experience . We need one which can manage money transfers from our english account.

Also how will we go about paying service bills electrc etc when we are in Uk?

No doubt we will have lots more questions as the time goes by.

Am i right in thinking that as we are setting up a company to buy the house we have to have a specific type of visa ?

Hi

You can let the electricity's company deduct monthly bills directly from your banking account each month. You need a paper of your counter's number from electric's company and bring that to your bank. And voila you got setup.

Use Bangkok Bank. They have a branch in London which is fantastically helpful in transferring money. In fact, its much easier to transfer money between banks in Hua Hin from London than it is in Hua Hin. Just be sure to state the transfer is for property investment. Also be aware that Bangkok Bank no longer issues a TT40 - you just get a certified copy of the transfer fax. Good luck, we're going through exactly the same process at the moment - having a place built at Bo Fai. Jim
