Wasn't BKK Bank also the one which caused a stir fairly recently regarding closing accounts? I can't be sure that was exactly it but they certainly caused some consternation amongst the expat population.
I'm pretty certain that when the whole tax thing based on remittances into the country was mooted, the banks suffered severely. Not so much from us expats but especially from wealthy Thais.

He most likely uses "big bank" to avoid defamation, however it absolutely can affect many of us and if rest of the banks follow well then ...control from arrival to departure, no thanks.

Pretty sure Bangkok Bank is the dodgy one all the agents use for the fake statements for the "visa with no money" option ... they've all got their snouts in the same trough.
