:agree:
and most cities and towns in Thailand don't even have a proper sewage system, and the small villages have water shortage issues(not being able to shower for days).

Yes....but that would mean everyone would be stinky, Thai's & Farangs.
The question was "Do farangs smell bad to Thai people?"

All foreigners or just the unwashed and unkempt variety?

I have to agree with europtimiste. I have learned to hold my breath over the last 9 years as soon as a farang walks by. I have been on the sky train in Bkk many times with my nose directly in any Thais armpit holding the belt above and nothing...........

As a little boy, I remember my mother looking at the clock in the evening and saying "oh dear, it's 8 o'clock and not a child in the house washed" My 3 sisters, were sent upstairs to have a bath and my brother and I were washed by mother, in the old style Belfast kitchen sink and left to drain on the wooden draining board! But we loved it, except when she rolled up the corner of the flannel and poked it into our ears. OW.

I'm old enough to remember the droughts in the UK and the slogan "bath with a friend" :D

When in Thailand or the UK, the wife and I always shower in the morning and when we change our cloths during the day, we have another shower and shower again, last thing at night.

We have always, since getting married, taken a bath or shower together when possible, as I have to rub her back with one of those emery stones  and she does the bits of me, that I can no longer reach. :naughty: And our little son, would spend all day in the bath or shower, if we let him.

When the wifes family stay with us in the UK, the 2 bathrooms are permanently occupied by someone taking a shower or bath and the water bill goes through the roof!

It's not difficult to smell good, no matter where you live and in some cases, such as the above, keeping clean and smelling fresh, can be fun.
If I do smell to the Thais, then maybe the wife has missed a bit of me.
I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.

Yes I remember an old Belfast sink when we were first married. I used to wash my son in it too, it was great. They are all back in fashion now.

Siani Yes, all the rage now, but not in our houses, it's Stainless steel or nothing.

The wife is short, so finds leaning over to do anything in that type of deep sink is difficult and I am too tall and leaning down to reach the bottom of the sink does my back in. Not to mention, if you drop any china, or child, into a Belfast sink when empty, it breaks!

Thank heavens for the dish washing machine. But don't put your kids in them, Social Services take a dim view of that sort of thing.
