What has happened to Hua Hin's local bus service?

Post by Big Boy »

I parked up near the palace today, intending to catch the red/white Baht Bus into town to start my beach walk. I walked slowly, and not a bus to be seen. My beach walk was abandoned, and I walked back - still no sign of a bus.

A couple of weeks ago, my car was off the road. I was happy to walk to Market Village, but Mrs BB decided she would catch the red/white Baht Bus to Market Village. She walked slowly, and no sign of a bus.

These buses used to be very regular, but these days are few and far between, to the extent you can't plan anything using a red/white Baht Bus.

So, what has happened? Is it a dying service? Have I just been unlucky not to see one for a long time? Have they changed their route? Is there actually a time-table?

A month or so past there were a number of white buses parked under the overpass south of Mv/ Bluport. Not sure about the advice I received from a local that they don't run during the low season!

The buses do still run, I've seen them. I also can't see them stopping for a bank holiday. Something has obviously changed, but it's just hard to know what. I'm not a regular bus user, but even when I want to use one, they are not reliable.
