Tour recomendations

Post by Hilux »

I have the family over from scandinavia and they would like to go on a tour to maybe Chiang Mai or another area of Thailand. Any recomendations on who to contact to arrange that?

Take a look at Lonely Planet guide for Chiang Mai, they have some really good info, don't rely on their hotel recommendations as they are way out of date. Very easy to find good hotel deals on the likes of Agoda

remember CM is a long way from HH or BKK so you need plenty of time to visit that area

Thanks for the reply Steve.
I learned that www.kanairlines.com are flying HH-CM three times a week. Price from THB 990 one way. Flighttime approx the same as a minibus to BKK.
Have already booked the flight and a hotel through Agoda.

How did you book the flight? I've tried 8 different dates in February online, and every time it was fully booked.

I see you have already booked, how long are you staying there?

Most trips in and around CM are available to book while you are there, I had the advantage of staying in Chang Rai so some trips would be a little further.

Those I would recommend are;

The White Temple and Golden triangle.
The Karen Villages.
Patara Elephant camp.

Driving around the double roundabout in the centre of town at night, or crossing from one side to the other is a unique experience. :laugh:

I tried online booking as well to begin with.
After that I called and booked. One minute after the call I recieved an SMS with booking number and payment information (bank transfer).
One thing to note... the departure which was fully booked doing a serch on the web page still had seats when I called. (maybe someone just cancelled???)
