Nice, booked, can see any reason for govt 'disapproval' since the route is already in operation.

I think it has to do with the original conditions stipulated on the first "approval". I think the landing fees for one thing were reduced, and probably the ground handling fees. There are several "hands in the pot" that will want the full fees.

I flew today from KUL to Hua HIn. I had my boarding pass printed 14 days ago, it showed the departure at 10am. When I was at ckeck-in in KL before 8am, they told me that the schedule has changed to 11:30. No Email from Ais Asia.

When I look at the booking site, all flights in August will be at 11:30 from KL and at 1pm from Hua Hin. In September is again the former schedule. It seems that they try out a new schedule now, but without informing the passengers.

The Air Asia KL to Hua Hin schedule has been changed this week only as both KLIA and KLIA2 airspace will be closed daily from 9am to 10:30am. The Malaysian airforce are practicing for a fly past on Malaysias National day this coming Friday according to a message on the Air Asia website.

I will be flying to KL tomorrow from Hua Hin at the later departure time of 1pm. After Friday the departure time returns to 11:30 am.

Copied from the Air Asia website

SEPANG, 23 August 2018 - The airspace above Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and KLIA2 will be closed between 9.00am and 10.30am (Malaysian time) daily from 27 to 31 August 2018.

This is to make way for the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) to conduct rehearsals for an aerial flypast that will be part of Malaysia's National Day parade on 31 August 2018.

Due to this airspace closure, AirAsia operations at klia2 will be impacted, resulting in possible flight delays as well as rescheduled flights.

We will update affected guests via email and SMS if there are any changes to their flight status.

We strongly urge all guests to keep their email address and mobile number (with country code prefix) in their AirAsia member profile updated at airasia.com to ensure we can reach them for timely assistance.

Does anyone have current info re the Air Asia flights from HH to KL.

I am thinking of flying to KL and back in the middle of November. The Air Asia website is taking bookings but state "Flights subject to obtaining Government approval"

Will this approval be forthcoming?

You can book and pay for flights so I presume it is all happening, we're booked to go in early November.

Buksida,

I have booked my flight tickets for the middle of November. I have read differing reports on Trip Advisor about the Air Asia check in at KL airport on the return leg. Some say it is extremely busy and slow to get through and others seem to have gone through quickly. My return journey to HH is on a Sunday.

If possible can you give a little update on your return to give me an idea of how early I need to be at the airport to catch my return flight. Thanks.

I came from KL in August. Not very busy, but before the immigration they checked the weight of the cabin baggage of all passengers. Be careful not to have more than 7 kilos.Tolerance seems to be near 8 kg

I use the low cost KLIA2 terminal twice a month. It's large, noisy and crowded. But it's never taken more than 5 minutes to check-in to Air Asia flights; and 5 minutes to get through passport control, both departing and arriving.

Flew out of Hua Hin this morning, great little airport, sailed through no problems and was on the plane within an hour of parking up - though there was only one flight going! Flight pleasant and over quickly, I hope they keep the route open.

KLIA2 the complete opposite - over an hour to get through immigration and into the cab that instantly wants to try and fleece you!

Just as well they have half litre tins of Guinness in the shops here for 70 baht!

Will report on the return journey when I get back.

   Jealous

I don't get much change from 1,000 Baht for 4 Guinness' here in Hua Hin. Almost makes it rude not to give the trip a try.

It's odd. Malaysia's high alcohol taxes make drinking beer an expensive habit, for those who drink local beer in Thailand. But Thailand's massive tax on imported alcohol means that drinking anything other brand of beer is actually cheaper in Malaysia.
