Vietnam Airlines

Hi all. I'm in the throws of booking my flight for the winter and vietnam airlines keep cropping up far cheaper than anyone else. Does anyone have any experiences of them??? Food,service, etc etc?? Cheers :D

Flying from Thailand to Vietnam they were a good 40% more expensive than Air Asia.

Flew Vietnam Air BKK-HAN and 2 domestic flights twice on my vacation last Feb. I didn't expect decent anything from a Communist state run service but was surprised how good they were. On time, comfortable, clean, courteous service, good English. Air Asia HAD the lowest cost ticket to Vietnam but the early departure time for the one flight a day to Hanoi was a deal breaker. HAN-BKK was Air Asia.
