Long-Term Parking at Suvanabhumi Airport

Post by Lung Per »

I plan to leave my car at the airport while away for about a week. The parking fees in the short-term parking house seem exhorbitant, and the so-called long-term near the public transport area is only slightly less expensive.
Are there parking lots at the airport with humane daily or weekly rates? :?

From the window of the Express train a few days ago I noticed that there were loads of cars parked up on the hard shoulder close to the airport. There didn't seem to be any specific attraction - ie no flashing fairy lights - it was day time.. These cars were simply parked up by the dozens and no sign of life around them.
Maybe it's an unofficial parking lot and travelers just get a bus in from a few kilometers away?
I'm serious. There just dosn't seem any reason for the cars to be there and a hundred folk needing a wee wee at the same time dosn't hold true either.

250 baht a day/24 hours in the short stay unless it has changed recently.

Hi Lung Per.

We parked the car at the short team car park May of this year, paid around 800b for 3.5 days. When you compare taxi, van etc. from Hua Hin for your week away, it’s going to work out a little cheaper I guess, but with the car you have the convenience and ease of pleasing your-self.

Have a good trip

Thanks. On their website I see only the hourly rate. This sounds OK. Do I need to tell them about my several days stay when I get the entry pass, or will they just calculate a daily rate at the end of stay?

Just turn up, park your vehicle , collecting a ticket on entry, keep your ticket safe and pay on return. Just like a trip to Market Village. :)

The short stay has an area where you can park outside instead of in the indoor multi floor building. You'll see it on your left as you follow the signs to the parking building. I like that area as the cars stay visible and if a thief is about, I doubt he'll go to there with security and gate people close by, few places to hide. Anyway, if you don't mind the rain and sun on your car or if you have a larger truck/suv, it's an option. Pete

I know of at least one person that parked in the long term car park for about a week, and came back to find their externally mounted spare wheel gone.
May have been just a one off case, but I would be careful about just where you do park.

I have no visual first hand knowledge, but have read that many flood families are using it to store their vehicles. I imagine it could be full. Hopefully someone who has been there recently will post later on. Lacking that, I guess a call to the airport authority is the only sure way to know. Pete

Personally, I doubt very much that the LT Car Parks are full. I am sure that there will be space. Alternatively use the Short Term Car Park. That's what I've always done and it'll cost only THB250 per day, sheltered, and very convenient for departure and arrival.
