It is just that someone said previously that it was cheaper to use the airline direct. Not always the case, I did my test with the ASDA site and EVA for the same flight on same say. ASDA came out cheaper than EVA.
There were cheaper returns with other airlines with ASDA Return trip from......£527.70

Flying to thailand is always expensive no matter what's your connection or leaving point.
Somethimes you can do a bargain but normaly direct flights you pay.
Just got a flight with Emirates for £619 from Manchester on the 9th December.
1.5 ish hours wait each way. Bargain considering the time of year.
QATAR emailed me the following morning giving me a complimentary silver card until the end of 2013 but they were £690 with 8 hour stopover, I'll probably go back to them next year.
on my first visit to thailand in 2008 i flew with thai air, and i could not believe that in this day and age that they don't have back of seat entertainment in economy class. i find it very difficult to sleep on a plane and i rely on the entertainment to keep me going on a 12 hour flight. in 2009 & may 2011 i flew with eva and i could not fault them, the staff were efficient and polite and the planes took off and landed close to time. i booked my flights with ebookers.com and on both ocassions i found them slightly cheaper than eva, i hope this helps.

Cannot believe that Etihad (who I normally use) want £945..!!
E-Bookers are doing same flight dates with Emirates for £609..thats a BIG difference between 2 airlines
that are in competition with each other.
Read on here about Oman Air..but don't know their prices..??
Reckon EVA Air & China Airlines think it's fine to charge full money and use well-old planes.

Booked my flight in March through WestEast Travel with Oman Air for £480.00 for a December flight with 1.5 hours connection each way. Checked the flights again now and they are reaching £1000.00 for the same flight

It obviously depends on what's on offer when you book, and it varies considerably, and how far ahead you book.
I had to make a sad and unexpected trip to the UK a few weeks ago and had only 3 days to sort out the flight. I needed an open-ended deal as I didn't know how long I'd be in the UK. Eva came up with the best price from Thailand to the UK - around 40,000 baht. Other airlines were quoting ridiculous prices. I booked on-line and it was (thankfully) hassle free. When I needed to get back to Thailand it was a quick telephone call to their office in London. I even got an upgrade on the way back - perhaps it was because I was a female travelling alone.
The service was great, and even in the cheapie seats there was plenty of leg-room. I'd highly recommend them for their efficency and service.

Ive flown with EVA in 2010 and 2011, LHR to BKK and found them to be excellent. I do upgrade to elite class (premium economy), which makes it even more comfortable. They've always been on time or arriving early for me, so im very happy with them.
I have flown on EVA airlines one time, BKK to LAX with a stopover in Taipei,Taiwan.
EVA is a good airline, their flight attendants are much nicer and friendlier than Thai airlines' flight attendants in my opinion.
I honestly have to say that going back to the US was like a nice vacation for me.
I was amazed at how clean the streets and other public places are in the US compared to Thailand and you don't worry about some unknown person approaching you or harassing you when you're out and about.
Gosh, I can't be getting out enough when I'm in Thailand as I don't experience those inconveniences that Name Taken has to endure. I spend my time there pretty much unmolested and can't say I notice more dirt in the streets than in most other host countries that put up with me. Hong Kong has its own share of touts, as does Bali and many other tourist and resort areas, and I see relatively little roadside trash compared to, say, the Philippines. And don't talk to me about being accosted by undesirables begging, selling or scamming something or other in the (often dirty) streets of London - it's all too common an occurrence. Gotta say Thailand, in particular Huan Hin, is a breath of fresh air to me. But then again, I don't hang out much in the Bintabaht area of a night time, which is where I guess most of the harassment occurs (?)
