Airport Body Scanners
Airport Body Scanners
Just read that an equality group is objecting to the introduction of body scanners at UK airports as they will breach the Human Rights Act
Presumably being blown apart does'nt breach your rights.
Maybe removing the bomb from the terrorist would breach his hunan rights also

Only criminals and minorities have rights anymore. If you're not in either of those groups you're out of luck.Just read that an equality group is objecting to the introduction of body scanners at UK airports as they will breach the Human Rights Act

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest as these bleeding hearts groups aren't happy unless they have something to complain about(anything...)it justifies their sad existence and gives them a self serving purpose in daily life!Read another interesting story in regards to an English guy ,who is taking British Airways to court on the grounds of sexual discrimination to men!!He was on a flight with his pregnant wife of 6 months and was allocated the middle seat of 3 next to a boy traveling with his family in the seats behind.Apparently British Airways have an unwritten policy that if any male is not family and seated next to a child they are asked to move seats! This happened in this case and the man refused (why wouldn't he?)This then developed into a farcical Mexican stand off and the man was subjected to all kinds of harassment from the male steward and other staff with the captain threatening to not take off if he didn't move seats. He did eventually move and is now subsequently taking court action arguing that British Airways automatically assumes that all men are potential pedophiles...(even if you are sitting next to your 6 month pregnant wife! )What do you reckon gang...political correctness gone mad(again)?

I notice that the ex head of homeland security in the USA is now the CEO of the company that just happens to be supplying the full body scanners after the Xmas day scam. The whole episode stinks. A report by the British says they are a waste of time and will not pick up liquids or plastics very well and would not have stopped this guy.
I am still waiting for somebody to explain how a guy who has no luggage, pays for a ticket in cash and has no passport and just happens to be carrying a bomb is allowed to board a plane in the first place ? Does it not strike you as a little odd ? If this guy didn't set alarm bells ringing then there is no hope for the rest of us ordinary travelers.

I never forget a face but in your case I'll make an exception!
Apart from the bomb seems typical of an immigration scammer en route to the UK. 'Though airlines are more wary now as if caught and not mentioning the A word, they have to pay for shipping them out againH2ODunc wrote:I am still waiting for somebody to explain how a guy who has no luggage, pays for a ticket in cash and has no passport and just happens to be carrying a bomb is allowed to board a plane in the first place ? I think you'll find that's how businesses operate, they employ people with specialist knowledge about how to ensure they produce the best product.H2ODunc wrote:I notice that the ex head of homeland security in the USA is now the CEO of the company that just happens to be supplying the full body scanners after the Xmas day scam.
Would you rather a milkman be the CEO ??
So let's abondon them and allow all the terrorists walk freely through who would get detected by these machines, just because it won't detect someA report by the British says they are a waste of time and will not pick up liquids or plastics very well and would not have stopped this guy.
Akin to suggesting we disband the police force because they can't detect all the criminals out there.
And just for a bit of a laugh, what the wackos are saying:
"Radio talk show host Alex Jones is calling for petitions, boycotts and lawsuits en mass in an effort to block the nationwide implementation of full body scanners that represent a total violation of privacy, a health risk, and the next wave of tyranny being metered out against the American people and the people of the world under the phony pretext of fighting terrorism."
"We're being trained like dogs….you’re the people they want to train to accept this, you’re the milk cows, you’re the cattle"

Yeah, AJ is pretty wacky on a lot of fronts but sometimes he tries to get some things done that need doing, kinda like Beck... we just sit around and talk and write about these people, at least they have the guts to stand up for what they believe in on a very public forum! Seems like a lot of government types want to shut him up for some reason.
"In 2000, Jones and assistant Mike Hanson infiltrated Bohemian Grove and filmed the opening weekend ceremony, known as the Cremation of Care, claiming it to be mock child sacrifice in front of a 40 foot tall stone owl.
On June 8, 2006, while on his way to cover a meeting of the Bilderberg group in Ottawa, Canada, Jones was stopped and detained at the Ottawa airport by Canadian authorities who confiscated his passport, camera equipment, and most of his belongings.
On September 8, 2007 he was arrested while protesting at 6th Avenue and 48th Street in New York City. He was charged with operating a bullhorn without a permit. Two others were also cited for disorderly conduct when his group crashed a live television show featuring Geraldo Rivera. In an article, one of Jones's fellow protesters said "It was ... guerilla information warfare."

scanners
pretty wacky is an understatement hhfhhfarang wrote:Yeah, AJ is pretty wacky on a lot of fronts but sometimes he tries to get some things done that need doing,
i find his presentation skills fairly clownish & some of his views are odd, extreme & mostly poorly researched.
just my opinion
as for body scanners?
i quite like steveg's suggestion
if the scanner really infringes on your human rights, get in the queue for a full body search, maybe with the rubber glove treatment (not optional )
i do find these equality groups extremely tedious & over sensitive
i'm sure in the bigger picture, they do more harm than good where human rights issues are involved, taking the focus off real areas of concern with their petty notions

Any link to this story? If true, I think this group could be breaching my HR to travel as safely as possible!mr lonely wrote:Just read that an equality group is objecting to the introduction of body scanners at UK airports as they will breach the Human Rights Act
But I agree these things are a health risk. I was asked if I would volunteer to be scanned with one being piloted at LHR, must have been 2006? Since when, I have put on a lot of weight - I think I should sue!

you may have a case callercaller wrote: But I agree these things are a health risk. I was asked if I would volunteer to be scanned with one being piloted at LHR, must have been 2006? Since when, I have put on a lot of weight - I think I should sue!
what you need to do is get hold of the number from that tv ad where the guy tries to drill a hole in the wall, whilst up an unsupported ladder, that slides & crashes to the floor
if he won compensation for being a brainless twit, there's hope for any case really, however negligent or ludicrous the circumstances are
