Would certainly concentrate the mind!!

In all fairness though, who in the right mind would want to go whale watching in a kayak??!! As you say, certainly a lucky escape. Personally, I'd rather be in something a little more substantial..

They were on BBC this morning, and laughing about it.
Apparently, the whales fin hit the front of the kayak not them and pushed them under water, they then popped out of the kayak and came to the surface unharmed.

The guy said he looked up when the whale breached and it blocked out the sun. I bet it did.

Damn lucky.
Reminds me of the words in Jaws, when the guy sees the size of the shark he says, "were going to need a bigger boat".
I think that may have gone through my mind, if I had been in their position.

I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.

we are about 40 minutes from the ocean where I keep a small boat. The area is known for grey whale migration and lots of tours to see the whales.

I have been out in my boat fishing and seen kayakers, and paddleboarders, up to 3 miles off shore. This area of the ocean can get very busy very quick!
