Beautiful Moon Tonight

What a pleasure walking the dogs tonight. A deep red moon rose from the Gulf, leaving an eerie glow over the water.

As it rose, it gradually changed. First orange, then yellow and eventually back to it's normal white.

Unfortunately, I had neither camera nor phone with me tonight to record it.

Yes, it has been rising with that orange glow for the last couple of nights, almost like a super moon.

I can't say that I'd noticed the previous couple of nights, but we were a little earlier last night.

Well, it doesn't rise at the same time every night, and it will vary a bit just where you are.

For February in Bangkok:
3rd - 17.51
4th - 18.39
5th - 19.26
6th - (tonight)- 20.12

Its also waning, so will appear smaller, and less bright each day.

That's a shame, I won't be able to leave home tonight until 20:45 at the earliest. However, if the above trend continues, tomorrow could be good.

The colour will be influenced by atmospheric conditions: in Bangkok it is shining through pollution!
