Reminds me of my first companion in Thailand almost 30 years ago. She wanted a snack on the way back to the hotel. She (I) bought some battered treats. Being Thailand, I was offered some. I held it in my hand, and said that it looked like a battered spider's leg. She said, "Yes, spider."

I lost my appetite for food.

It seems I have a new lodger......Caught this one earlier today having a wonder across my kitchen floor. It appears to have a 'sack' under it's body which I am assuming is carrying eggs. Anyone out there know if it's poisonous or not. If it's a good one I'll release it into the wild, if it's poisonous I'll decide it's fate later
It looks like a huntsman spider and I don't think they are poisonous to humans from what I have read. They eat things we don't want around the house such as cockroaches. They also carry their sack of eggs under them as your picture shows. They do not build webs.

Thanks for the links and replies. It's already having babies so I am releasing it this morning, it will be a few hundred yards away from here though ;-)

Jesus, Rob. Can we stop it with the spiders now please? Is there any way to "ignore" threads?

Came across a tarantula in the garden some time ago. Needless to say, it didn't live long after I found it.

Later I found that the Thais eat them. What a surprise (not)!!
