Hua Hin Golf Festival 2009
Yep, all the courses I've played so far have had pretty impressive views of the surrounding area.
Had a bash around Springfield yesterday, nice course but a little over-rated IMO, some pelican has put a great big reservoir in the middle of it too!

Hey Buksida at the Tee off to the fourth hole (Front niner) you ca get a pretty decent view into my old Univ. Campus which should house Thai students by now!
International Studs had been shouved to Da new Bangers Campus o Rama 9th road just 10 Min. from Swampy Airport and 10 Min. to RCA!
Your's The understudy!
What on earth has this got to do with the Hua Hin Golf Festival?

Why dont the member of HHAd have a small tournament while the prices are good - something fun like a scramble - it would be another good way to meet new people share some laughs and beers on the golf course - we could all put a little something in for the competition and some food then go to the driving range at Mongkol for some great grub and have a laugh over our triumphs and spectacular failures .... some good to anyone?
Sounds like a great idea JW, I'm in.
The difficulty now is going to be playing on military courses and at Dolphin Bay again when this golf festival ends as many of us can't afford the inflated green fees. At 1,300 a round (including caddie and tip) its doable (I can even take mrs buksi), at 3,000++ its not!
I've done 4 out of the 7 top courses in HH now and all have been great for different reasons, out of Majestic, Royal, Palm Hills and Springfield, Royal was my favourite course though I played the best at Springfield.
Joining a society is no good as I can only play at weekends, damn I wish they'd have an expats card for us ... just when I thought I was starting to improve!

Course D at Lake View and course C at Springfield are considered to be pretty hard. D at Lake view is pretty long but rolls out more than the rest of the course. C at Springfield is a storming 9 holes, water really in play on 5 of the 9 holes - i would say that while the deals are good everyone go play em all!
It just takes 1 dream shot to make a great day, you know that 1 u never forget!

Each hole? that sounds like a good deal hic.JW wrote:Most courses are doing September also - lets see how many takers we get and then maybe meet up for a chat and all decide where would be best to play. Think it will be a lot of fun.
I will sponsor 3 Changs for all players! Anymore is up to the player!
Four of us played Lake View today. What a course.
Lomu's full of cold and I swear that I've never sweated so much. The front nine, which we walked, was hard work for me after about 3 holes. My caddie was almost helping me round 7/8/9 in case I didn't faint. I suppose I really shouldn't have been out on the course in the first place.
After a 30 minute sit down and a buggie for the back 9, things got easier - for me.
One partner who shared the buggie improved whilst the other two walkers self-immolated - he he.
By the 16th, one player was down to his last ball and the other was having trouble with bunkers let alone walking!! It was really hot out there today.
Great course though and I can understand why so many decent golfers like it - it's a real test. The only gripe I'd have would be the state of the tees (white). Other than that - well the course beat me, but I managed a 94 and there was hardly anyone on it today.
As long as the 800 Baht continues through September, I'll be back.

That's putting it kindly ... 'played like a coynt' would be closer to the mark!lomuamart wrote:whilst the other two walkers self-immolated - he he.
Lakeview has been the toughest course I've played so far - would not recommend it for novice golfers - it'll drive you nuts, walking or not!

It was definitely Lakeview, courses: Punishment A and Punishment B.
We did Springers last week, the names at LV cracked me up though and as a newbie golfer I can read between the lines:
Mountain Course = the only flat lie you'll get is on the tee box.
Lake Course = make sure you have at least 50 golf balls - you'll need them.
Desert Course = expect to see camels because there's more sand than fairway.
Link Style Course = a combination of all of the above !!!
