Driving Lessons

Post by petercr »

I know it's been posted before but I am still unable to locate a driving instructor for my wife.

Can anyone help with contact details for a local driving school/instructor

Thanks

I don’t know if it’s still there, but my partner learnt to drive at a school that had an office on the right of the Pulau-U road about a km or so from the rail-tracks. It was about two years ago but I think it’s still there, it just looks like a normal office a couple of shops after one of those places that sells pictures of royalty.

I can't remember the exact location myself now, but if I'm around that part of town I'll see if I can see it.

There is an official driving school on the palau-O road (about a kilometer past the gasoline station going towards the by-pass). It has it;s own circuit and organizes driving tests to obtain a licence. It's not really expensive, about 5,000 Baht for 10 lessons including driving test and licence.

It’s a bit out of the way for those living in HH but on the outskirts of Cha Am is a driving school where my wife passed her test last year - they also offer scooter training too.

I don't know if they do scooter teaching as well. My wife got her driving licence there. They have cars with dual controls. They first teach on the track and then move to the highways which is good as in Thailand you only have to be able to drive on a track to pass your test. The test does NOT include driving in real traffic! The school is called E.DRIVER 0619499799 or 032827101 or www.facebook.com/e.driverhuahin

Just bumping this thread again.
It seems like I'm going to have to capitulate and buy us a car. Does anyone have some recent information and recommendations for a driving school in HH?
I'm not concerned about driving myself but I am keen to make sure that my wife doesn't add to the road carnage here.
And is it OK if I sit in the back of the learning car. I'll try and be quiet but I want to see what's going on.
Thanks.
