Am toying with the idea of renting a condo instead of using a guesthouse in the centre of town for my next trip.
Don't really want to have to taxi or tuk tuk it back and forth each evening, as that would quickly spoil the potential cost saving, so looking at the scope of what can be found in easy striking distance of the nightlife, either on foot or by baht bus.
Question though.. - what time do the baht buses finish on the main drag each evening?
Last baht bus?
Last baht bus?

Re: Last baht bus?
rent a condo in the centre of town. There a good few around the area of the night market that are very competitively priced. The beachside ones on PK Road are obviously more expensive. In airbnb you can zoom in on any one location and it will show you immediately how many apartments they have in that area (the further in you zoom the smaller the area becomes, it's easy to search say a 500m2 area), the price, and the exact location, then it's easy to disregard the one's you don't want.

Thanks - I was afraid they didn't run late - walking distance it is then..The songtaews run until 9:00 pm

Re: Last baht bus?
It all depends on how much you're saving on your accommodation, though. A baht bus in the morning at 10bt, followed by a motobike taxi back at 100bt isn't a massive outlay.
Re: Last baht bus?
Grab prices are quite reasonable too, when compared to taxi mafia.

I've always hated riding pillion - and doing so at night when I've had a few drinks and may well have company seems ill-advised!followed by a motobike taxi back

Re: Last baht bus?
Hi uncle tom...sounds like your scope of travel distance is anywhere you can comfortably walk around town. Pay no more than 100b for a Tuk Tuk within 5/6 mins of centre. Grab quote 10/20b under that but by the time you drag out the 100b note its same same. I normally walk to where my bar or restaurant of the night within 15 mins walk and motorbike/tuk tuk/Grab home. 50b each way. Love your thinking.
