Buying an registration of a car in Thailand
Buying an registration of a car in Thailand
I am not sure if I am asking this question in the correct topic. Re buying an registration of a car in Thailand, is it difficult for a foreigner to register a vehicle? I read on another forum that this could be difficult. Has anyone had problems with this?

No it is not difficult providing you have an address here that you can verify. This can be done with the yellow house book or with a letter from immigration.

This policy varies widely depending on where you are in LOS......as with most thingsThis can be done with the yellow house book or with a letter from immigration.
In Koh Samui I had no problem getting a letter from Immigration, in Songkhla they flatly refuse to issue such a letter. Not sure what the policy is in HH.

One is supposed to stay here on a Non-immigrant visa or extended stay, not on a tourist visa.CDNinKS wrote:This policy varies widely depending on where you are in LOS......as with most thingsThis can be done with the yellow house book or with a letter from immigration.

I know that in Pranburi, at least, a work permit is accepted as proof of address.
Re: Buying an registration of a car in Thailand
So I think the best advise is to give it a try in HH (or where ever you live) and if they refuse, don't despair, just try the next place down the road. One great thing about Thailand, a no in one place may be a yes in another
