Fatal Road crash qestion.

Post by kendo »

A very good friend of mine, and a lad that is very popular, in my local community has just died after a road traffic accident some where else in Thailand, his parents are flying out tonight, and i am being asked by friends allready will they fly his body home.
My qestion is that possible or not because of the heat and logistics of the matter, i really dont know or have the answer to this advise please.
Kendo.

Hi Kendo.

Sorry to hear this.

You or the family have to contact the British Embassy in Bangkok in this case.
They will arrange everything.
(The heat is not a problem as one uses a coffin which is zinc-plated for the transportation of the deceased back to Europe).
I intend to live forever - so far so good.

kendo

Sorry to hear of the loss of your friend.

I have seen several threads on other forums (can't remember a link, sorry) where I have read that the body has been flown home.

Tragic as it is, accidents happen to many foreigners all year round and the relatives need to repatriate a loved ones remains.

I expect the British Embassy in BKK will have helpful info if they look on the Embassy site or give them a call. After all that is what they are there for.

Good luck to you and your friends family.

Edit to add: Apologies Norseman I did not see your post.
I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.

Thankyou for your words and sentiments, my friend was living and owned a bar in koh Chang he fell off a moped and had a leg injury but was wareing a helmet, the RTA was last tuesday, his insurance expired only a few weeks ago, after the accident the hospital would not treat him, he was booked on a flight with the help of his family back here but past away from a blood clott in his leg 4 days later, hours before his plane to come home.

His mum and brother are now traveling out tomorrow but his farther can not travel on heart medical reasons they are planning to have the funeral in Thailand and a memorial back here.

My thoughts are god and budda bless my friend and you do not realise how fragile you are when living you dream !

Kendo.
