Road construction work on Soi 94 in central Hua Hin is now expected to be completed by the end of October, according to local officials said on Monday.
The resurfacing project, which covers a 500-metre stretch of the road, includes the installation of reinforced concrete and upgraded drainage systems. The project began on 22 July 2024 and was originally scheduled to be completed in February this year.
However, work was halted due to issues involving underground utilities and soil subsidence. These complications required a revision of the original construction plans, resulting in a significant delay.
On 14 July 2025, Mr. Jirawat Phrammanee, Municipal Clerk and Chairman of the Contract Inspection Committee, visited the site to inspect progress on behalf of the Mayor of Hua Hin City Municipality. He was joined by Ms. Nonglak Phadungthot, a member of the municipal council, along with Mr. Kalayut Kuyukham, Director of the Engineering Office, site engineers and the contractor.
During the inspection, officials confirmed that the first section of the road is currently undergoing surface adjustments, while drainage manholes are being installed in the second section.
Hua Hin City Municipality has acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the extended timeline and offered apologies to local residents and businesses affected by the construction.
Once completed, the upgraded road and improved drainage are expected to reduce flooding and improve traffic flow in the area.
