School Terms

Post by Big Boy »

Can somebody please tell me what months the new school terms start? The last one started while I was there in November - is it every November? What month does the other term start?

In most Thai schools the first term starts in May or early June at the latest. Then October is usually a holiday month and the second term starts in November and lasts until March.

Yes, their summer break is exactly that, over the Thai hottest month. IS's still maintain the western schedule of late June to late August which I think has more to do with teacher rotation and recruitment from the UK and EU than it does with families traveling home for the summer break. The majority seem to stay here and take in-Asia trips. Pete
