A Scandinavian school in Hua Hin?

Post by bapak »

Read a report today in one of the English language papers that said among many other things ".....The Scandinavian community in Hua Hin is even planning on building a Scandinavian school there". Interesting. Can someone in the Scandinavian community enlighten us if this is a fact.

Any and all education is welcome by me.

New Swedish School in Hua Hin

The Swedish School in Thailand will soon get a sister School in the fishing village Huay Yang south of Hua Hin.

Thailand got its first Swedish School in Koh Lanta back in 2004 and it did not take long before it was very popular among Swedish parents and children, who was looking for a time off from the cold winter in Sweden.

And now almost seven years later it is time for the next step - the new sister school in Huay Yang, where there is a huge Swedish community.

The new school will be named Huay Yang Sanuk.

The school will open 10 January 2011.

According to the Headmaster of The Swedish School in Thailand, Eva Brandelius, the school is a small one and will hold small classes.

The new school south of Hua Hin will follow the Swedish curriculum for Nursery & Kindergarten School, Primary School, and Secondary School.

In the long run, the people behind the school hope to turn their new project into a full year school like the sister school in Koh Lanta.
