Temples for Khao Phansa - Buddhist Lent - 2nd August 2004

Post by Bangkokney »

It is more than likely I will be in HH during Khao Phansa due to my requirement to do a visa run (I enjoy the boat trip across to Burma at Raynong plus I get to check on my business in HH and have a few beers with 'Buk' Nao' et al. even swap some mp3 !!!)

I will be with my girlfriend and my 8 year old daughter. They have expressed a desire to go to a temple to 'tamboon'.

Am I right in assuming the main temple in town opposite Bint' and the 'Monkey Temple' on the hill are going to be PACKED ?

If this is the case can anybody suggest an alternative temple to visit for Khao Phansa within 15mins or so of the town centre ?

Wat Bor Fai

Theres a big temple complex at Wat Borfai, 4km north of town. Take the road opposite Anantara Resort and follow it over the canal and round to the right. I imagine it will also be busy but its a nice rural temple with big catfish ponds.
