BB, I always really looked forward to your reports and match analysis of HHCity football as it gave an insight into the highs, lows and shambles of Thai football of which none of us would get. If I remember correctly you were off to pursue Ratchaburi FC.

Is there no way you could add your experiences of the games there in the sports section? It was the only insight into the Thai game that us bar stoolers got. I really do miss the weekly Thai football posts. I click on the HHFC thread hoping there's something but it's just fixture updates now.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that enjoyed your Thai football commentary.

Once it resumes are you willing/able to give match reports on the games you do go to see? Enjoyed the reading. You always had a bit of everything; attendance, ref watch, quality of game, subs made(good/bad) occasionally stories of the commute to and from different stadiums...

Will think about it - no promises. There will only be 1 month left after they resume anyway.

One interesting snippet though is a Thai ref was suspended for 3 months this week for poor performance (not awarding a blatant penalty).

Maybe due to the recent match fixing scandal? Not awarding blatant penalties (honestly or not) could implicate them in the scam? Knee jerk reaction possibly

Every game seems to have more and more officials officiating the officials. The referee can't even start a game these days without the nod from a suited official's official giving him the go ahead. Officials are often so bad, the official's officials are doing just as bad a job by not taking more action.

There was a game at Kanchanaburi last season when a suited official ran onto the pitch and made the ref change his decision :?

It's actually refreshing to see action against an official. However, will this be an ongoing trend, or is he just an unfortunate fall guy to enable the authorities to say, "We are doing things correctly."

From the sounds of it, I think there's going to be a whole shake up of officiating and it'll be a mess for a while. Reminds me of a football match I volunteered to ref for (local school) in Chiang Mai. I believe it was a charity event. I blew the whistle and the match started. Wasn't long b4 I realised there's another chap blowing his whistle on the pitch. Confused I asked him what's happening. Like, am I supposed to be here, you know...

"I referee this half of field. You referee that half of field".

So when the ball came into 'my' half, I was the ref and vice versa.

Was different I suppose
