kalbow - Yes, Californication is excellent. David Duchovny plays the part superbly - a little different from his X Files days!! I'm only just starting Season 2, not sure how many seasons there are or if it's still running (?)

Five seasons completed, renewed for a sixth. And yes, it's excellent.

Talk about life imitating art, I believe David Duchovny was admitted into some rehab facility in for sex addiction around the time the first season was being shown.

Thanks for that Homer - good news indeed! :thumb:

On the David Duchovny ''X Files'' theme, ''Fringe'' has been fairly enjoyable. For fans of the X Files and J.J. Abrams (Lost, Cloverfield, Star Trek, M.I. III), this one is for you.

Had not heard that one........ of course it's a bl**dy addiction (well, at least for the male population) - why go against nature? :? :D

Mate, too true. As Frank Zappa once said "you can't have too much vegetables or sex". Anyway, Google the Duchovny thing - I can't post the link as I'm still a newbie.

I'm guessing just one more post mate and you'll be there - well, at least for PM's.

Just thank me for my all knowing advice

The BBC has been known to knock out the odd decent documentary, and ''Inside The Human Body'' is certainly one of the better ones. From a free diver who can hold his breath for an incredible 9 minutes, to Thai fishermen who are able to constrict their pupils whilst underwater enabling far greater vision than the rest of us mere mortals.

Along the way, some truly fascinating facts - all very well presented.

Another series I've not seen, but currently downloading is ''The Event'' - and from the trailers, looks superb. For all those conspiracy theorists amongst you, this looks unmissable!!

Will keek an eye out (no pun intended) for that BBC show!

I started watching The Event a while ago - it started to get interesting but then I've left all the files on my server in HH (currently not in HH). From memory a fair scattering of flash backs in the show, but was getting good when I left it.

Just watched the latest episode of Game of Thrones (episode 7) - that's hotting up as well. I like the dudes with the beards and horses. All the other Houses fear these guys invading their fiefdoms, gonna be interesting if they invade the north - nipple frostbite sets in?

In the process of obtaining Treme - anyone watched this?

Also, mass obtaining of Inspector Morse (all series 22GB) and Prime Suspect (10.2GB) - should keep me going once I'm in my re-retirement back in HH.

I keep meaning to have a look at Treme as it's written by the same guy's who did The Wire and also has a few of the same cast.

I've heard good things about it.

Thanks BaaBaa - just 'secured' ('downloading' is illegal  ) episode 1 - will try and watch it tonight and report back.

Also I've developed a perverse interest in quantum physics, the cosmos and atomic thingymagigs in general so been watching a lot of science shows lately. A few good series out there - will try and rescue my catalogue and list them if anyone is interested.

Enjoyed the first season, but wish I had better amp and speakers because of all the tasty music. Good story lines and acting. Acquiring the second season to view later.

again for fans of TV series, science shows, history series like Timewatch, Nat Geo, Discovery etc I heartily recommend you join (for free) www.veehd.com. The other main source I use is the site www.stagevu.com

The bulletin board www.docs4you.org is alsoa pretty comprehensive source of TV programs

http://www.youtube.com/user/DocuNetwork is also worth a look at for documentaries

well THE BORGIAS came to a series end on a really daft set of end hooks....it feels like they just didnt make the last one to keep everyone on hooks....tossbags! Still, the new series is in production so we should get more excellent stabby shaggy fun later in the year.

Meanwhile one I forgot about and is well worth catching for download is the zombie survival series THE WALKING DEAD. Excellent fun and great effects - series 1 is complete and easy to find online.

The second series of LUTHER has just started on BBC, the first episode sets it up to be a cracking series.

The first series had me hooked, Brit drama/mystery at it's best.
