I came across this posting on another forum
Well its happening all over again here in Hua Hin,

We have a new head of the Police and now all the bars have been told they must close at 12pm.

This same thing happened about two years ago, do the people in charge never learn. clearly they have no regard for tourism as if they find a bar open the police march in and demand everyone leaves. and not politely.

The funny thing is that the Hilton and other large establishments seem to be able to carry on as normal, (any thoughts anyone)
I've asked the original poster where he heard this...

Well, I was talking to a friend in HH yesterday, and she mentioned that the police have been around to close her bar at 1:00am a few times lately. Havent heard of midnight closing, but I think that "ianjames" has the answer....

Hua Hin Bar Closing

Post by buksida »

Had a chat with a couple of bar owners. It appears there is a new head honcho here and the closing times are 1am. They usually do a drive by, flash the torch, and pull a face to let the owners know.

The shutters come down, music goes off and the beer still flows

I was in friend's bar 4 days ago. The police had come into the place the night before saying that they had to close at midnight, unless they paid money, in which case they could open until 1am.
The bar is not on Bintabart, or the adjoining sois. Info is now a little old and the folks concerned didn't know how much money was being asked for. The owners weren't there, so the cashier was fielding the situation.
Draconian measures with a new chief of police and mayor. Oh, and don't forget the general election next Feb.
Moral of the story - if you're out late, say dancing at The Hilton or other discos, be prepared for a police raid and forceable urine tests for drugs - that's for both Western and Thai customers. Happened in BKK recently. All farangs who tested negative were detained for not having their passports with them.
Make your own mind up. Election silly season!! :guns: :guns:

Not to worry the show must go on and it will  . One bar closes early! another one opens, its nothing new here. I get the impression that the local five-o dont own as many bars as they used to in the area, but still want a piece of the action and whos to blame em :| all the extra work they do (when there not shooting each other :guns: ) .
Hua Hin is taking off with a bang and they can smell the cash!.
Last week end in town we had a tequila sunrise, and we had a great time!
