MORE bars to close in Sukhumvit !

Post by Bangkokney »

I'm hearing from a couple of bar owners that the 3 'alleys' of beer bars in the soi 13 area are to close after receiving a 1 year notice from their landlord in the last few days ...

Nana to Cowboy once 'vibrant' will now almost be a bar-on wasteland ...

There's always some self-righteous do-gooder who thinks that they're doing everyone a favour with this kind of action. Taking the bang out of Bangkok won't necessarily kill the city but it will surely spoil a lot of the fun. Why don't they hit the sex-spectacle ping-pong ball crap in Pat-Pong instead - it's much seedier and more disreputable than Soi Cowboy. 8)

Shame, I like that little bar alley, it’s a nice place to relax and cool down with a beer on the walks around Sukhumvit. Have some nice memories from there

Deja vu! Sukhumvit just ain't the same since Clinton Plaza closed down! The replacement opposite was short lived (bulldozers a-gogo!) and what's left was squashed down the lanes. Its been reborn 3 times but not sure if Monica Bar will rise from the ashes again...

Sukhumvit Bars

What a SHAME.It's a great place to have a beer and watch Sukhumvit pass by.I suppose they will replace it with another department store or similar.

Was in Bangers last week and noticed some new bar areas. On soi 7/1, yes, that's where Eden is as well, there were surprisingly many new venues. Then there's a new bar area just next to the entrance on Soi 1 and couple of new bars on soi 3 and between sois 2 and 4.
